Job description
Cooking Duties at a Resort Hotel Restaurant on Amami Oshima Island
While the restaurant is part of the resort hotel, it is also frequented by many non-staying guests. The restaurant is known for its quality, with a head chef who has overseen the first-class dinner menu for JAL, offering original dishes that emphasize the island's ingredients.
We aim to make this restaurant a place that not only serves hotel guests but also attracts more outside customers, spreading vitality throughout the island. We are currently recruiting kitchen staff for this restaurant.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in overall management, preparing you for future independent ventures. The work will be on a shift basis, covering two of the three meal periods: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The restaurant has a total staff of around 15-18, with about 7 members in the kitchen.
As this is the company's only restaurant operation, there is a high degree of freedom. You can work alongside the head chef to freely create seasonal and island-inspired dishes, change menus, and develop new ideas.
There is also great freedom in sourcing ingredients and developing menus, allowing you to see the strategic aspects of restaurant management, from cost control to profit management. Working as a team provides a strong sense of accomplishment, and with many repeat guests, you can closely interact with customer feedback through surveys and reviews, which is very motivating. Many staff members have gone on to open their own restaurants after working here, and we have a system in place to share the know-how.
